Our Story at Stone Soup Catering

At Stone Soup Catering, we believe that a healthy life is built on two core components: meaningful work and whole, fresh foods. To bring this vision to life, we’ve established a unique approach that combines these elements ¹.

Empowering People through Employment

We partner with the Saint John Learning Exchange to train and employ program participants, providing them with fair wage jobs to prepare a diverse range of healthy, tasty meals and snacks. This not only supports their well-being but also fosters a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Putting People First

As a Social Enterprise, our priority is people. We reinvest our revenue into our employees, empowering them to grow professionally and personally. This approach has created a positive impact on our team and the community we serve.

The Legend of Stone Soup

Our name, Stone Soup, is inspired by the ancient legend of travelers who, with nothing but a pot of water and a stone, asked villagers for food. When met with rejection, they asked for specific ingredients to make a shared soup, and soon, they had everything needed for a hearty meal. This story embodies our spirit of collaboration and community.

A Recipe for Success

Our achievements are a testament to the talent and generosity of our community, who have contributed to and shared in our success. Together, we’re creating a recipe for a healthier, more compassionate world, one meal at a time.

Customer Reviews

Great food, great service and nice outside seating. We had the club sandwich and the veg and cheese, both made with fresh produce and very tasty! The cappuccino was perfect even with the right temperature (warm, NOT hot!) This place is part of the Saint John Learning Exchange, Highly recommended!
Stumbled upon this place serendipitously as we were driving by the area. We were very pleased with our meal. The food was very fresh, hearty and packed with flavour. The staff was lovely and very hospitable. Highly recommended.
We decided to go off the typical tourist trail today and spotted the cafe. The food is great value for the price and of brilliant taste. It’s a small place, but well worth a visit. They are doing good work here. I had the Corn Chowder which was delicious.
