Customer Reviews

I ordered the hu tieu bo sate ($19). The broth is super rich and heavily infused with spicy sate oil. There was a ton of meat. The bowl was layered with tender slices of beef shank and brisket. I could taste the quality of the meat. My favourite part of the meal was gnawing around the beef rib to suck out all the gelatinous goodness. I liked how the bean sprouts were spanking fresh and crunchy. Even the basil tasted extra vibrant. The noodles were noticeably silky and slippery. Worth it here. Next time I will get my bowl to go and only eat half so that I can save the broth and meats for a second meal.
Top notch bowl of pho! I ordered the sate beef and my wife ordered the regular all beef. As good or better than anything you will find in the city. I don’t have the right words to describe how great it was. Perfect ratio of noodles, meat and broth. There was 4 or 5 different types of meat in the soup and all are as good as the next. Spice level in the sate is exactly how I like it. Almost enough to sweat. I could see it being too spicy for someone who isn’t used to this style of pho. I appreciate that I didn’t need to add any chili oil or condiments. It is priced high and a bit of a wait because it’s busy but well worth it.
Lam Pham’s Pure Street Food is a contemporary take on casual Vietnamese dishes. Although the dark and plain interior isn’t the most welcoming environment, Pure Vietnamese food will blow your mind. Located at First Street Market, the highlight of the menu is the beef pho with sliced beef, brisket, beef ball, tendon and spicy sate broth. It is the best pho I’ve ever tried thanks to its savory broth. If you can’t eat pho every day, there is always the No. 4 Hu Tieu Mi Kho noodle bowl with char siu pork ground pork, and a crispy pork spring rolls. It’s a drug!
