The Mary Brown’s Story
At Mary Brown’s, we’re passionate about great taste, achieved through premium ingredients and careful preparation. Our signature chicken is Canada Grade A, marinated, hand-cut, hand-breaded, and cooked fresh in-store. Our Taters are made from whole, fresh potatoes grown by Canadian farmers, cut and seasoned by hand daily. Even our coleslaw is handmade from whole fresh carrots and cabbage.
Our Secret
We use proprietary cookers that seal in juiciness and flavor, giving our chicken its natural golden color. No fillers or pressure frying here!
Our History
In 1969, our first store opened in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, and the rest is history. We’ve since expanded across Canada, with almost 300 locations coast-to-coast. We’re 100% Canadian owned and operated, sourcing our chicken and potatoes locally and supporting Canadian communities.
Our Values
We’re committed to being polite, keeping promises, and putting people first. We support BGC Canada (formerly Boys and Girls Clubs) as our national corporate charity, providing safe and supportive places for children and youth to develop skills and overcome barriers.
Our Founder
Mary Brown was a real woman with a recipe for fried chicken that inspired a nation. Her legacy lives on through our brand, which continues to prioritize quality, community, and delicious food.
