Our Story

2013: Cafe Joie
Our humble beginnings started with a 1000-square-foot cafe, where we recognized the need for a spacious meeting place in the Lower Mainland.
2017: La Forêt
We transformed an auto body shop into Vancouver’s largest cafe, marking the birth of La Forêt in Burnaby.
2023: Royal Oak
We expanded to Royal Oak, Burnaby, becoming a beloved destination.
2024: Austin
We further grew to meet demand, opening a new location in Austin, Coquitlam.

We visited for weekend tea and were pleased with our experience. The English breakfast tea latte was spot on, complemented perfectly by a decadent double chocolate cake. Our son enjoyed the pasta with tomato sauce, which was well-prepared and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive, though the cafe was bustling and a bit crowded. The cozy atmosphere added to the charm. Overall, this caffe provided a lovely setting for a family outing with delicious food and welcoming service.

This cafe is worth going if you’re around the area. The interior space is huge with many tables and chairs. I came here for lunch and ordered a pasta dish. Service was quick and the pasta was on point! Cooked all dente, served hot, creamy, and in the perfect portion. I didn’t get to try their pastry and coffee so I need to come back. A downside is that they don’t have enough parking spots.

Awesome place for young-at-hearts of any nationality. Love the vibes and pop music keep playing. Coffee and hot chocolate are both great! We ordered waffles and fried chicken and double chocolate as desserts! Yummy indeed! Remind us for our travel experience in Seoul and Shanghai's Brown Sixty & Mr. Pancakes ❤️❤️❤️❤️
