Customer Reviews

Love this place and I love the pivot to the new location on 1st street. I've seen over the decades different waves of Indian cuisine. But I love this modern version of what I feel is fairly authentic but with comfort and simplicity. It's a beautiful room but unpretentious. I feel the flavors really come through. The service is impeccable, inviting and friendly. There is nothing gimmicky.
Saturday night was the first time I tried this place and I couldn’t have been happier. The food was tasty and the presentation of the food was beautiful! I will say though the cocktails could have been better. They lacked flavour and presentation. I was expecting a little bit more from them because of how beautiful this place was. Should match the vibe. Service could use some help. We barely saw our server. We seen a server who came in for his shift half way through our meal more than our own. He cleared our plates and asked if we wanted more drinks, etc. Other wise I’ll still be back!
New location lives up to its reputation of beautiful design and top notch service. Indian retro chic vibes with a groovy playlist in the background. I can’t name all of our dishes. In fact I can’t recall any of the names. Everything was very tasty. The spices really shine in each dish and you can smell them easily without any hunching over your plate. However, the one issue we both agreed on was that some dishes were over-sauced and most were overly salty. I like salt, but this was way too salty. We didn’t say a word though because everything else was perfect. BTW we had the Taste of Calcutta option because we simply don’t know enough about Indian cuisine and appreciate something that would give us an overall experience. It was a lot of food, but still, we also ordered these sort of wraps that were crazy good. The wrap itself was like if a gyro pita and a croissant had a baby - flakey, yet chewy. And bendable enough to wrap some Indian deliciousness inside!
