Our Story

For thousands of years, humans have gathered around open flames to cook meat and find sustenance, safety, family, and fare. This tradition was first named “Barabicu” by the Indigenous Tiano peoples of the Caribbean in the 16th century, evolving into the Barabicu, Barbacoa, and Barbecue techniques we use today.

Live Fire Cooking

We cook over wood and charcoal, using Alberta Hardwood and Mesquite Charcoal to season our food with a unique blend of smoke and char. Our custom-built Grillworks Exopro Woodfired Grill allows us to perfect this ancient art. Our chefs tend the fire for 12 hours a day, stoking and feeding the flames to create a truly unique culinary experience.

This place is a hidden gem that should be recognized. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and the service was even better ! Ava was our waitress and she definitely did not disappoint. She was very attentive, but not overbearing. She engages in great conversation with the whole table and makes you feel such a warm feeling like your welcomed in the space. Next time I return here I would love her to be our waitress again and hopefully in the future, the manager (wink, wink). There's so much here we want to try. This place is truly exceptional!!
This place is so strong at every level! I was genuinely blow away from the apps and the main still topped it. Delicious. Fresh. Creative. Amazing. I heard exclusively great things about this place and it still exceeded expectations.
We have been to Barbacoa quite a few times but we just did their New Year’s Eve dinner and WOW. WOW. WOW. They have outdone themselves. Everything was 10/10. Tried some new foods (tartare & sorbet with olive oil) and it was beyond my thoughts. Tyler was our waiter, he was amazing!!! Explained all the meals and certain things he liked about each piece of food that came out. Great service and ensured to check on us after every few bites. Barbacoa is our go to place to take family when they come to visit and they learn to love it just as much as us.
