Traditional Bavarian Cuisine and Beer Garden

Discover our charming restaurant, conveniently located directly at the Sendlinger-Tor-Platz subway station.

A Rich History

Our establishment has its roots in the 19th century, with a garden first recorded on the city map in 1850. In the same year, a beer hall operated by Johann Krabler was established across the street. The beer garden, named after Krabler, has been a beloved gathering place since 1871, initially known as “Zum weißen Adler” but affectionately called “Krabler-Garten” by locals. Although the original building was destroyed in World War II, a temporary structure with a beer garden remained until 1978. After a new building was erected in 1981, our restaurant, “Zum Krabler-Garten,” continues to serve traditional Bavarian cuisine and refreshing beers in a cozy atmosphere.

Customer Reviews

We decided to visit here after seeing it on YouTube. We arrived around 5:30-6:00ish and were shown to a table straight away (there are often queues, as there was on our way out). The menu appears to be mostly different types of schnitzel, which is what we came for, and I ordered the Wiener schnitzel, my wife the pork schnitzel. They were absolutely massive! Almost comically large!! And they were delicious too. Service was like most German restaurants we went to; they do what needs doing. No flair, fanfare nor fussing. Just get the job done. Which, to be honest, I quite like! Would definitely recommend. Tasty and certainly value for money. Just don’t eat much before you go; the schnitzel’s are really really huge!!
Very nice place to have dinner or just a beer. Nice environment outside when the weather is good. The schnitzel is giant but the quality is also amazing! Totally recommend! 🤌🏼
This place is absolutely fantastic, probably the best schnitzel I’ve tried in Germany so far — I personally recommend you to order their signature spicy one with potato salad. But keep in mind that ‘big’ is not a right word to describe the portions’ size in this restaurant — they are tremendously huge, even if you’re really hungry you better split the dish with someone else.
