Customer Reviews

My wife and I enjoyed a delightful date night at Amici. The food was great, the hosts and our server were amazing. We sat out on the patio — perfect atmosphere for a summer night out. I also wanted to speak to the portion sizes and how well done the pasta was. As someone who has lived in Italy for a year, the pasta is al dente which is how pasta is supposed to be cooked. If Amici overcooked the pasta to the Canadian standard then they would be doing a disservice to Italian cuisine in my personal opinion. The portion sizes are more than enough to satisfy and again doesn't follow our Canadian oversized portion sizes that most are used to. Perhaps Abby folk just ain't ready for the legit stuff. I also want to make it clear that I have no connection to the owners or staff of this restaurant. I am sharing this review as a reflection of my experience at Amici. This is the closest you can get to authentic Italian food in Abbotsford.
Everything was delicious, and the focaccia crostini was amazing. I know it's just bread, but a lot of places don't get focaccia right. I also noted that another reviewer said the pasta was perfectly cooked (al dente), and it was. Which made me realize that so many places overcook their pasta. Not the case here, as my pasta was perfect. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, which was amazing and is highly recommended. I'm picky when it comes to tiramisu, and this was one of the best I've had. Perfectly layered and sweetened, with an exquisite consistency. An absolute must. For drinks, we tried plenty. I particularly enjoyed the Cuj and the strawberry lemonade, though everything we ordered was great. Some are very boozy (which is good, as they're supposed to be), so keep that in mind while ordering or you might end up stumbling out. As for the service, our server, Marissa was very attentive, and always on top of our drinks and water, and was an absolute joy to be served by. Her recommendations were also flawless. I hope I get seated in her area again. I can only imagine what her step count must be at the end of the day. I think it's helpful if diners keep in mind that this restaurant is *large*, so things might take a little time to come out (though, personally, I didn't find the way to be anything outrageous, and the staff works well as a team; but keep this in mind, and relax a little as you enjoy the company). There's a main dining area, a downstairs, and an outdoor area, and your server will likely be running through all three spaces, given that the bar is downstairs. Thank you for a lovely experience. We most definitely will be back!
We loved our experience at Amici. I ordered the SAUSAGE & CHILLI MAFALDE which was incredible. I highly recommend this Thursday night feature. The portion size was great (no bread with this feature because the portion was larger). Our server, Marisa M, was very professional, engaging and had a good sense of humour. She seemed to present the menu with enthusiasm and a sense of ownership. The live jazz music was awesome! Shout out to the singer of the night, he nailed it! And the gelato was fantastic… highly recommend the salted caramel. You can tell it is high quality ingredients. My only recommendation would be to have complimentary bread with garlic butter…. (Even if that means taking it off the mains) This is always a nice touch for while you wait for food. We will defintley be coming back here again with friends.
