Customer Reviews

What an amazing meal in what must truly be one of the best restaurants in Perth. This is the second time that I have been to Balthazar over quite a long period, that straddled either side of COVID. And if I have any take on that big gap of time, it this: the consistency of great food and service has never disappeared. I love the dark and moody setting of Balthazar. It has a sort of classic contemporary vibe about it, where deep brown wood is sort of contrasted by white linen and giant racks of modern wine. Being that I had to drive after lunch, I only had one glass of the Pinot that our group has ordered and that was honestly one of the best wines I have had in a very long time. Normally I am a Shiraz man, so now I am having to rethink my wine strategy!
We ordered the cured swordfish, the roll, kangaroo, duck breast, potatoes, broccolini, and the Cruller dougnuts. All the food was great, not a single bad dish. Though, the duck and cured swordfish stood out as the best dishes. The service was great, very attentive. The atmosphere was nice, the music was good and the place wasn't too loud. I'd definitely come back again to eat here!
Went for my birthday last night. First night out in 10 months since having a baby. Was very excited. We had to wait just 10 mins for our table and we’re given a free drink for the inconvenience. The bar staff were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The food was very tasty but I’d say our mains were not very hot. Detuct a star. We got a seat that was near the door in a heavy traffic area which was disappointing. It was in front of the main door and around the corner from the main dining area. Deduct atmosphere star. Disappointed I didn’t request a table in there but I didn’t know. I was also a bit cold and had to put my jacket on during dinner. The waitress we had was so lovely. Made the experience better. I don’t really eat desserts but I love an affogato. They couldn’t do this because they don’t have a coffee machine? Found that strange. Pricy but nice place for dinner. I suggest booking well in advance and asking for table in main dining area. I would recommend asking for a table in the main dining area.
