Customer Reviews
I don't normally leave reviews but I had to because we had such a great experience. Coming from Metro Vancouver, we've been really disillusioned with the food scene that's supposed to be "cutting edge". In reality, so much of Vancouver "fine dining" has been resting on laurels and lacking creative fire. "end dive" was the perfect balance of creativity of pairings and precision of flavour. There was not a bad dish that we tried, and we ordered seven between the two of us (the server kindly warned us that it was too much, but we wanted to try a lot because the menu was so enticing). I had one of the best salads in my life at this restaurant.
We had the pleasure of spending the evening until closing at End Dive on a Saturday night. It was late, we were hungry, and End Dive had come recommended. It certainly didn't disappoint. From the handcrafted beverages to the incredible food, it was a relaxed, delicious experience from start to finish. Staff are casual, knowledgeable, and attentive. Vibe is definitely for the younger than us crowd (50-60), but we felt welcomed. We ordered the black pearl oysters, scallops in potato chowder, and the smoked cod salad. Hands down, the best food I've ever eaten. Two of us including alcohol and tip was a little over $220. I highly recommend and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Victoria.
Great spot! Stopped in for "cheap time" between 4:30 and 5:30 and was easily able to grab a bar seat. I sadly bypassed the cocktail menu (which in hindsight was the move) but did have a cheap, local sipper. Being full from lunch I wasn't in the best shape to sample much but did try the pickled egg & the salmon belly off the cheap time menu (salmon is also on main menu) and the recommended charred cabbage off the main menu.
